President Marsilio: we must preserve Europe’s technological freedom and sovereignty
|
"The future of the automotive sector lies not in building low-cost mini-electric cars, but rather in stopping the absurd ban on combustion engine vehicles by 2035 to preserve Europe’s freedom and technological sovereignty". ECR Group President Marco Marsilio’s remarks were part of his address during the opening ceremony of the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, in the presence of European Commission Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.

Eastern European regions bordering Ukraine excluded, warns ECR first VP Władysław Ortyl
|
This summer, the European Commission announced the upcoming "Pact for the Eastern Border Regions," an initiative aimed at transforming the EU's Eastern border regions bordering Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine into more resilient, competitive, and secure territories. However, the Commission’s proposal for the National and Regional Partnership Plans Fund ringfenced resources only for European Eastern border regions bordering Russia and Belarus, excluding those regions bordering Ukraine.

Families should be at the centre of European social agenda, VP Magyar says

"Families should be at the centre of the European social agenda, they are the cornerstone of our societies, and EU policies should support Member States in creating environments where families are valued, supported and nurtured", said ECR Vice-President Anna Magyar during the debate with European Commissioner for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Roxana Mînzatu.

Bianchi's opinion on EU-Switzerland partnership adopted by CoR
|
The opinion "Enhancing the territorial dimension of the EU-Switzerland relationship" by ECR rapporteur Matteo Bianchi has been adopted by unanimity during the October plenary of the European Committee of the Regions. The President of the State Council of the Canton of Ticino (Switzerland), Norman Gobbi, was invited as guest speaker for the debate, during which Bianchi underlined how this was a testament to the quality of the dialogue established and an encouragement to continue with determination on a shared path.
