Marco Marsilio re-elected as President of Abruzzo Region

President Marco Marsilio has scored one of the greatest electoral victories marking the first time that a leader has been granted a second consecutive term as President of the Abruzzo Region. The resounding victory underscores not only the trust and confidence placed in President Marsilio but also reflects a strong support for the centre-right coalition government led by ECR Party President Giorgia Meloni.

"The people of Abruzzo have chosen to confirm me the honour of leading the region for another five years. Never in the previous 30 years had an outgoing administration been reconfirmed for a second term: a page in history has been written and another wall knocked down" declared Mr Marsilio soon after the results were announced.

One of the notable aspects of this reelection is the clear alignment between President Marsilio's regional agenda and the priorities of the current Italian government. The seamless coordination between regional and national leadership bodes well for the future of Abruzzo, as it promises a unified approach to addressing pressing issues and advancing strategic investments.

The historic reelection of Mr Marsilio is "a source of great pride for us. The citizens of Abruzzo have wanted to continue to put their trust in him, and with him to put their trust in the centre-right, which has confirmed its majority. It is a trust that, as always, we will not betray. We will continue to work to give Abruzzo and Italy back the place they deserve" stated Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a comment about the Abruzzo elections' outcome.

The victory also reflects positively on the performance of President Marsilio during his first term in office. His leadership has been characterised by initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth and improving key infrastructure, garnering widespread support and approval from the electorate across Abruzzo.
