Ciszkowski calls for an end to extreme left political violence

During the annual Pawel Adamowicz Award ceremony at the European Committee of the Regions, Adam Ciszkowski, speaking on behalf of the ECR Group, strongly appealed for the protection of democratic values against rising political violence.

Ciszkowski extended condolences on behalf of the ECR members regarding the recent killing of Quentin Deranque in France, underlining that such tragedies transcend borders and political affiliations.

“Every life taken by senseless violence deserves our clear and unconditional condemnation”, Ciszkowski said. “No political idea, no social conflict, no cause can ever justify violence. When hatred replaces dialogue, democracy pays the highest price.”

By remembering Quentin Deranque, Ciszkowski reiterated the shared responsibility of local leaders and institutions to ensure that Europe remains a place where disagreements never turn into dehumanisation. “Europe must remain a space where differences are never answered with violence. That is the responsibility we carry, and the legacy we must protect.”
