ECR Member Roberta Angelilli, Vice‑President of the Lazio Region, has been appointed rapporteur for the European Committee of the Regions’ opinion on the “28th Regime – EU Inc.”, the European Commission’s proposal aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of European businesses.
Commenting on her appointment, Angelilli underlined the strategic importance of the initiative for Europe’s economic future: “We will work on the Commission's proposal for the 28th Regime, a tool that aims to boost European competitiveness and make our continent's small and medium-sized enterprises strong in global markets”.
Ms Angelilli stressed the central role of regions and local authorities in shaping effective EU legislation. “Our goal is to leverage the voice of regions and territories in drafting an ambitious text that aims to streamline bureaucratic procedures for businesses, allowing them to operate more easily throughout Europe” she said.
A key priority of her work, Angelilli added, will be ensuring that the new framework delivers tangible benefits across all territories. “Businesses operating in cross-border areas or in disadvantaged regions, as well as in internal or rural areas, must not be left behind: the 28th Regime will only be a success if small and medium-sized entrepreneurs can also benefit from it”, she concluded.
